I fell in love with poker back in 2007, thanks to some university friends. Like many, I started with casual home games, where we played for low stakes, focusing on fun.

For the next 10 years, I continued to play, and between 2015-2017, I played semi-professionally, earning more than my full-time job while still balancing both. However, after moving to Australia, where the government prohibited online poker, I decided to stop playing.

As I gained experience and began playing in bigger tournaments and cash games, I found my enthusiasm for home games fading. I often became the most experienced player among my friends, which meant I usually ended up dealing the cards. This took away from the enjoyment of just playing.

Fast forward to 2022, I joined a gaming company focused on online Poker for the North American market. There, I reconnected with Bruno Medeiros, another co-founder, who had been managing the Poker engineering team for a couple of years. We quickly started playing poker with our colleagues, and all those old frustrations with home games came flooding back.

That’s when we decided to take action.
